our story
We met in the early years of college at Virginia Tech where we spent our time going to football games,
sorority formals, and bars before packing our bags and heading to San Francisco, where games and formals
and bars were traded in for tech meet-ups and brunches and, well, nicer bars.
And shortly after meeting... ok, 9 years after meeting... Mike proposed to Katie on a foggy, gray, romantic
day in December, and now we get to throw a big party to celebrate!
the city
New to San Francisco? Welcome! Been here before? Welcome back! We’re so glad to have you! We wanted to
provide a bit of information for all of you out of town guests. We truly believe we live in the best city
in the world, and we want to share some helpful tips and tricks to make your stay here comfortable and
memorable.
where to stay
We've set up room blocks at the Le Meridien Hotel,
which is attached to the venue, so stumbling home after all those cocktails will be a breeze! Give them a call
on their reservation line at (866) 837-4184 by March 18th and mention the Anderson/Malone room block. The room
block price is valid for Friday and Saturday nights. Should you need a weeknight room, please email Aimee
James, an employee at the Le Meridien, at ajames@lemeridiensf.com,
and she will be able to book you with a discounted rate.
weather
April is usually pretty mild and free of fog and rain, but our best advice is to bring lots of layers,
and carry a cardigan or light jacket with you wherever you go. This town is known for its microclimates
and rapidly changing weather, so just come prepared for anything!
getting around
San Francisco offers multiple ways to get around town, but the easiest is by taxi or Uber (download the
app before you come!). Should you be craving that gritty city experience, the city also offers busses
and light rails. And if you are up for it, parts of San Francisco are very walkable- just watch out for
those hills!
